Replace ADB 3-1-4
We replaced ADB 3-1-4 due to a low x32 gain range in capacitor 2.

SOURCE CAL: Source calibration run 333
Today the neutron generator was cooperating and I was able to take a source calibration run. The first few attempts at running even at the lowest HV setting were met with error 58 messages for out of range neutron tube current. But I was eventually able to slowly ramp the HV up to 90% of the maximum value and take a 30 minute run (an ideal run is 15 minutes at 95%). A couple notes: - Some of the channels in the endcap with the lowest light yield failed the validation due to the reduced S/N. - The light yield of the Crismatec crystals as determined from this calibration is around 0.5% lower than in the October calibration.

Filter board swap between BF28 & BF29
Swapped to see if 2-10 noisy would quiet down a little....it did.

SOURCE CAL: source calibration run 331
A 30 minute source calibration run was done today. Before running, I had to change one FEX threshold: Cr 9 Sl 9 Ch 4 40 -> 50 Ran for 1 min at (HV fraction of max) 15%, 25%, 54%, 75%, 90% (twice). Then a 30 minute data run at 90%. Then I tried "cooling down" the generator to see if that helps. 5 minute run at 50%. 5 minute run at 30%. 5 minute run at 15%. The constants will not be used because the light yields have changed significantly since the end of the run.

SOURCE CAL: Attempted source calibration
I tried to do a source calibration but, as expected, the neutron generator wouldn't start up. It gave an error 58 message.

GMB for EC West Xtal temps recovered
- Older GMB's oscillator was torn off by the magnet. The replacement works fine, and we now have EC West temps again.

SOURCE CAL: Source calibration run 328
Today I was able to take a 20 minute source calibration run, without any significant difficulties. In particular, there were no "Error 58" messages. See http://babar-hn.slac.stanford.edu:5090/HyperNews/get/EMCOper/1629.html

Update of DQM JAS html pages
I finally updated the html pages for the DQM so that it is clearer that they need to look through them all, and made the summary page show more relevant plots.

changed LP scripts so the LP crate is switched off after calib.
Wolfgang and I changed the EMC_preCalib and EMC_VALIDATE scripts to switch off the LP NIM crate after a calibration. This should prevent disconnects from emc-mon for the time being. We tagged the CVS package EmcOepCalib to V00-07-01. Jim patched this in for us.

EMC PIN Diode offset voltage adjusted
With the beams down for a bit, Tim and myself adjusted the offset of the EMC PIN Diodes to zero. Actually turned out to be about 0.01V with no beams.
01/25/07:
Change EMC PIN diode offset voltage
With only 3 PIN diodes connected after the shutdown, the offset voltage of the total needs to be adjusted. There are beams now so an absolute change can't be done yet. The readings though were around -0.18V with beams so I changed this so the reading was about 0.0V. Wednesday there should be a ROD and with no beams we can make sure that the diode total output is consistent with zero.

SOURCE CAL: Source Cal Run #325
Yesterday I took a 30 minute source calibration run from 5:10 to 5:40. I had some trouble starting the generator, obtaining the mysterious error 58. I ran at 15% of fully intensity for 5 minutes, then 35% for 2 minutes, then 55% for 2 minutes, then 75% for 2 minutes. Then I ran at 95% for a 30 minute data run. Cr 4 Sl 9 Ch 19 was noisy and so I had to mask it out in the source calibration DAQ. The problems due to the swapped fibers in Cr 4 Sl 5 are resolved and there are no new problems with the data from this run. The constants were loaded to the database today with the new electronics calibration. I'll show a few plots at the operations meeting on Monday.

SOURCE CAL: Source Cal Run #324
Today we did a 45 minute source calibration run. There were no major problems, so the constants were updated. However, there are several small anomalous regions. I've posted a few plots at $BFROOT/www/Detector/Calorimeter/Operations/ops_mtg/09jan2007cw

SOURCE CAL: Source Cal Run #323
We've just completed source calibration run 323. Over the past couple days we've had some problems with the flourinert resevoir level, but Mike Racine seems to have remedied the problems by adding about 3 gallons of flourinert. We had to mask out the following channels: Cr 2 Sl 9 Ch 0 Cr 6 Sl 10 Ch 50 Cr 9 Sl 6 Ch 28 The first two channels were very noisy and the last channel had an improper FEX threshold setting, which will be changed before the next calibration. The constants have not yet be updated, as we need some extra time to make sure the constants are correct. I will make a presentation at the Monday EMC meeting presenting the results of the calibration. Afterward someone from RP came to do a survey. While restarting the neutron generator, we twice encountered an error on the neutron generator, error code 58. On the third try, the neutron generator started up successfully.
